In summary

We've used the delivery service about three times a month and spent £20 on average each time. Its been noticed more so recently that delivery times (usually quoted at 90 mins) have become even longer than that which was advised at the time, and dishes have been omitted. It used always to be worth the wait however that has become less so of late.

This evening we ordered and were told that the food would take the usual 90 mins. After an hour and three quarters I called to make sure that it was on its way as I was by now ravenous and the booked 'pay per view film' was due to start...I was told that the food would be another 20 odd minutes but when I asked whether there was any reason for the delay I was told that the food was on the way repeatedly.

When it arrived they had sent the wrong dish ! Oh dear. By now our patience was exhausted as rather than eat separately whilst awaiting the delivery of the correct dish we decided that we wanted a refund and that we would no longer be using the restaurant.

My girlfriend rang and explained that this was our wish but they insisted that it was ok because we were not being charged for the wrong dish. She explained that this was not the issue as she felt our evening had been spoilt by the extra wait/'phone calls and knocks on the door and that we wanted a refund. It fell on deaf ears.

It's a shame because a 'spicenut' always used to be something to look forward too, good food and a 'snugly' evening but that was spoilt for good tonight. I know that mistakes will always happen, but it's about how one goes about making those mistakes good that defines a reputation and I no longer feel that this establishment deserves one !
